A message from Kaniksu Land Trust in difficult times

During this difficult time, KLT has implemented policies to slow the spread of COVID-19, while also ensuring that we can continue to provide vital resources for our community.
The KLT office is closed per the statewide stay-at-home order issued March 25, 2020. If you would like to speak with a member of our staff, please contact them by email. Staff contact information can be found here.

Statewide restrictions regarding outdoor activities read as follows:

Outdoor activity near your home is OK, but you should keep a distance of 6 feet from people outside of your household. Social distancing requirements are in effect on paths, trails, sidewalks, riverbanks, beaches, parks, and anyplace outside on private or public property where people might gather. Crowds are a no-no.

For more information on appropriate guidelines please visit the CDC here.

Information on our trails

Pine Street Woods, the Manning Buffer and Cabinet View Nature Area remain open to the public for outdoor recreation. Sherwood Forest is also open, but please remember that it is private property permanently protected by the landowners through a conservation easement. It is under different ownership and management from Pine Street Woods. Follow all posted signs and be respectful and courteous. KLT wishes to keep these community amenities open to the public as long as possible, contingent upon strict adherence to the statewide restrictions that have been put in place.

Our education programs

KLT provides valuable programming to children in Bonner County. We are working hard to continue our rich education programming by creating remote learning opportunities for children in our region. Camp Kaniksu

We are aware that school closing dates and public health requirements may change between now and June. You are encouraged to register for the camp weeks of your choice. In the event that our camp schedules change due to the health situation, we will offer full refunds.

Now, more than ever, we are seeing firsthand the value of the work we do together. Never have we needed trails, forests and farmland more than we do today. Never have our children needed the rich programming that connects them with the natural world to learn and discover more than they do today. And never more than today has Kaniksu Land Trust needed your support to make what we do possible. Please consider making a gift today ---- click here to donate.

Thank you for support. Please, take care.
