I often say I have four mentors, all deceased: John Muir, Helen and Scott Nearing, and H.D. Thoreau. In my opinion, their intelligence and passion are as relevant to me and to our world today as when they wrote and walked on this earth. My hope is to inspire people of all ages to connect with nature in ways they have never dreamed of and that their hearts will be full of gratitude in response. My wife, Suzie, and I love to learn about and spend time in nature, as well as learning ancient arts (basket-making, tanning, fiber-arts, wood work, etc.). Teaching and educating is a natural overflow that comes from my own ongoing learning.
