Marcy Timblin, Director of Communications

Marcy and her family moved to North Idaho from Portland, Oregon when she was 8 years old. With 20 acres of treed paradise surrounded by public land, she explored every inch with her dog, Bandit. As she grew up, she learned all she could about the natural world; the soil, the rocks, the plants, trees, and wildlife. Her childhood was spent hiking, biking, running, swimming, and skiing.

When she wasn’t outside (and sometimes when she was) she wrote short stories and poetry. Her love for creative writing and nature moved her to study communications and natural resources in college. During that time, she worked seasonally for Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation as a Naturalist Interpreter at Round Lake State Park. She stayed on as an AmeriCorps member for two years after college while operating a nature education side project. She volunteered with Idaho Fish and Game, Department of Lands, and the Forest Service before joining a high country trail maintenance crew with the Bureau of Land Management. More recently, she worked for the Downtown Sandpoint Business Association as Executive Director and Downtown Manager before becoming the Public Relations, Marketing, and Community Development Specialist at the East Bonner County Library District.

Marcy has been the Director of Communications since November 2020. Working for KLT brings her original passions full circle – doing what she loves, working with people and nature.

Marcy and her husband share in many of the outdoor pursuits they both enjoyed as kids. With their three children grown, they spend much of their time outdoors throwing a ball for their energetic dog, Chewie.
