  • Use your imagination to create a pinch pot mug with a handle and add any 3-dimensional features you wish (flowers, plants, animals, insects, hearts, letters, numbers, geometric shapes, etc.). Stoneware clay and glazes will be used, allowing your completed work of art to be oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

This is a two class series, allowing your creation to dry and get fired in the kiln between the class sessions, and returning a third time to pick up your completed project after the final glaze firing. Ages 8 and up (children 8-12 require parent/guardian assistance)

  • Monthly Herb Walks with Meryl Kastin, Clinical and Field Herbalist for over 40 years.

I will help participants learn to positively ID plants as well as when and how best to gather them and how to use them for food and/or medicine. We will also discuss how to identify some of the most poisonous plants in North America. I encourage folks to come to all of the herb walks to see the various plant stages of the same plants as well as the progression through the seasons of the herbs to use.

Students are encouraged to bring plant loupes or magnifiers of some sort to look at plants closely. I also will have several we can pass around.
